🎓 Should We Rethink How We Educate Children for a Sustainable Future?

Last month I visited a rural community where children were being taught how to grow crops alongside their math and science lessons. At first it seemed unconventional, but then I realized these students weren’t just learning, they were living sustainability.

It made me wonder…
đź’ˇ Why does most traditional education still separate the classroom from the real world?
🌱 If sustainability is one of the greatest challenges of our time, shouldn’t we embed it into the core of children’s education, not just treat it as an add-on?

We talk about preparing the next generation for the future but are we equipping them with the right tools to protect it?

Some say education should stick to the basics. Others argue we must evolve urgently to teach climate literacy, ethical leadership and community resilience from an early age.

I believe sustainable development isn’t a subject. It’s a mindset. If we want children to inherit a better world we need to educate them differently.
What do you think? should sustainability be a core part of early education or does that risk losing focus on essential academic skills?

Let’s start a conversation. 🌍📚
